What a great find…. Seven Points Campground is huge but it sure doesn’t feel like it. We made a trip a few hours away for the Columbus Day holiday and were ecstatic over our decision. There was only one remaining site when we made our reservations, but thankfully the photos were pretty good so we knew what we were in for. This was our first night time arrival, which we had been trying to avoid, but as the days get shorter, its almost a sure things that it will happen if we are leaving after Ryder gets home from school.
As I mentioned, the campground is huge, but its spread out over lots of different loops along the Raystown Lake (reservoir) in central Pennsylvania. It’s also our first experience at a Corps of Engineer’s (COE) park and I have to say they take really good care of it. We explored the area by taking frequent hikes and checking out the damn from their viewing areas at the far end of the lake.
In addition to water related activities, the Friends of Raystown Lake have developed an extensive mountain biking trail network including a skills park right at the campground. This of course only fueled the fire within me for a new set of wheels.
