Naturally with COVID changing the face of everything we do, our annual meeting and conference had to be changed up a bit. ABYC looked to me to put the nuts and bolts of this together and provide the attendees with a rewarding experience so the pressure was on.
I built a set in our upstairs training area, complete with backdrops, multiple stages, lighting, audio, cameras and live editing bay so that we could mix together the few in-person speakers we had as well as the virtual speakers who were on Zoom. I also developed the platform that would be managing access for all the attendees. I did have one assistant helping me the day of, but for the most part, I was a one man band though this 3 day extravaganza. Everything went well, although my stress level was rather high up until the last speaker signed off. We had north of 300 attendees between the main conference and our annual meeting and it seems everyone enjoyed the show.
Whew… now back to my other job.
