I was finally able to try out a feature called Active Track on the drone that follows a defined subject. The subject in this case of course is our speeding cyclist up and down the street. I’m not actually piloting the drone, only telling it to pan or climb, but it will move where needed to keep Ryder in frame. The drawback is that Ryder can chase the camera forcing it to back into things that it can’t see, such as a tree or mailbox, both of which were near misses in these early tests. I can envision some great shots using this feature this summer on boats.
