Lights, Camera, CHRISTMAS!

It’s pretty hard to wrap our heads around the fact 2018 is already wrapping up. It seems like yesterday that the blooms were appearing and the boats were getting commissioned for the new sailing season.  Unfortunately, the sinks are pink with anti-freeze in the Catalina once again and the sails are neatly folded in the garage awaiting a warm day next May. But with the sad winterization of Backfin, comes the magic of the holiday season as seen through the eyes of an exuberant 4 year old.

My folks came into town before Thanksgiving to help out for a couple days before visiting Mike and the family for T-day while we did our usual gig with the Finley/Crawfords. Upon their return, it was time to hunt down the elusive Christmas Tree at Friendship Farms for the 7 or 8th year in a row. We found the perfect tree and had a great time wandering the fields in search of it.

There was enough light and remaining warmth that afternoon to dig out the outside decorations and I thanked my efforts last year for putting in permanent hooks in the soffits to hang them. I still have a few tree lights to hang on the dogwoods, but now we just need some reindeer to land on the roof in a few weeks to make everything perfect.
