NOOD Day 2
NOOD Day 2

NOOD Day 2

Races were postponed 2 hours due to lack of wind and when they finally got things going the current at the start line was unforgiving and pushing boats over early. An error in the prestart left us struggling for speed at the gun and we found ourselves looking at a lot of sterns pulling away. We got a little leverage on the left side of the course and pulled back a couple spots at the first mark but when we set the chute, the whole fleet came to a screeching halt. The breeze was not enough to combat the current and we all started sliding backwards. In a hail mary plan, we  headed right with 3 other boats while the rest of the fleet went left thinking it might fill in for us first. It didnt.

We bobbed around for a little over an hour before there was enough breeze to let us finish after only two legs but unfortunately, the boats on the right got the breeze first while we beat the boats that came with us to the right.

Race committee sent us back to the dock thankfully as it was already late in the afternoon. Another race would have been torture.

We had 4 points going into the day (1-2-1), so day three we are at 10 with a 3 point margin and the breeze has filled in for the strongest day yet.
