In Annapolis??? This is pretty far from the mobile homes in tornado alley and its certainly not the kind of weather one might associate with the mid-Atlantic region… but indeed, it happened. The front that moved through yesterday afternoon was the remnants of Hurricane Ida which came up through the Gulf of Mexico and New Orleans. It was still potent enough to make some trouble as it approached Maryland’s Chesapeake marine climate.
Watching from my office, the trees were doing their normal dance in a moderate breeze, but at no point did I get concerned that something nasty was transpiring only a few miles away. I know a few of the areas hit pretty well so this was a shock to all of us.
