Back to Me in the Studio

After returning home after our Adirondack trip, I was back in full blown development mode to put the final pieces together for this year’s ABYC Educator Training Conference. I helped with it two years ago and last years was postponed because of the pandemic. This year would be entirely virtual and all of the technical development fell on my shoulders.

I built out the studio with backdrops, lighting, cameras audio etc etc. I engineered the editing bay including all input sources (about 3/4 of our speakers were virtual, so they had to be hosted), audio and video mixers, recording and streaming hardware and virtual environment for the attendees. Finally, I was responsible for all outgoing media production including all of our transition materials, break time media, sponsor rolls etc etc etc.

The 3 day event went off with only a couple minor speed bumps and all the virtual attendees loved the interactivity and community feel I built for them. I received a couple requests to perform something similar (actually a series of these) for the Coast Guard over the next 12 months.. so that’s the biggest compliment I can get.
