…gets the worm, and if campsites were worms, we landed a doozy when we had our early season shakedown. We stayed at one of the Thousand Trails campgrounds a couple hours away which was a stone’s throw from where we are staying next week for spring break. Nestled along the shore of the Piankatank River, the campground was just emerging from its winter sleep so we had our pick of the spots, so why not take the best which overlooked the river. It was still on the chilly side and we used our fair share of propane keeping warm at night, but it was all worth it.
We were accompanied by Ari and her son Lucas who bought their RV early last winter and kept it at our house until now. This was her maiden voyage with that rig. Thankfully with all the space the campground had, we were able to get adjoining sites.
