Bathtime

The light is at the end of the basement project. Among the remaining items, the biggest and most impactful is the creation of the bathroom out of thin air. I’ve done this once before at Ramblewood so I knew most of the hurdles going in to it.

I took a couple days off at the beginning of week one to make sure the plumbing would go as planned. BV brought his concrete wet saw and we wasted no time slicing into the basement floor. I was the mule carrying concrete and dirt out of the basement as fast as he could fill each 5 gallon bucket. I did the primary drainage plumbing and installed the ejector pump. Within 2 days, it was sealed once again under fresh concrete and we were on our way. I handed the baton over to BV for the majority of the remaining work as my 9-5 has picked up in pace once again. He hung the drywall, installed the shower, tiled, painted and overall, made the space look great while each night I fulfilled any material orders he had and worked on the electrical systems. From start to finish, we had it done in exactly 2 weeks.

Ryder christened the new throne for us and to our delight, the new ejector pump is much quieter than the one at Ramblewood.
