Several months back when the ABYC office collectively started purchasing RVs, our president thought we should have a “meeting” somewhere fun. So a date and location were set and reservations were made. This past weekend, we were off to Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes, Delaware. Unfortunately our esteemed president had to shift gears a week beforehand, but the we got some time in with other colleagues. The Goodwins and the Lingterinks (go ahead and try pronouncing that one eh?) both came with kids, so there were lots of kid antics going on. The Broadbents also came down from Jersey and even brought Dave’s parents who had never been RVing before. We all stayed in the same loop so we were a stones throw from beers at any time.
On Saturday we explored the State Park which sits on the site of an old fort dating back to the Revolutionary War and further updated to defend out shores during WWII. We got ice cream and wandered the historic and quaint town of Lewes (pronounced Lewis) before coming back to launch rockets with the Goodwins.
We enjoyed our stay so much that we re-arranged some plans for Thanksgiving week to have an extended stay with our friends who came with us to Hershey a few weeks back who are now buying their first RV. Hopefully the weather holds out a little longer.
