Toes in the sand

Over the last year, Kris’ mom had been looking for a waterfront condo in Annapolis to spend time here with her grand kids, her boat and of course us and our pending addition. We looked at several with her and even found one that she made an offer on (low ball compared to the asking, but probably a true market, it wasn’t accepted and its still on the market 6 months later). Even that property didn’t seem to check all the boxes and she was slowly giving up hope. She was finding the condos to be too small for what they cost (plus add in an average $500/mo HOA fee!), often not the best areas and even if she could get a slip in the association marina, it would be at great additional costs.

Then about 6 weeks ago I received one of those emails from Zillow from a search I set up nearly three years ago when we bought Duvall. It was for a house in Cape St. Claire on the Little Magothy so I forwarded it on. They certainly wanted more for it than what the condos were going for, but it offered so much more. The next thing we know, she owns it. Congrats Lois!

For now its a second home but we see that this would make the perfect downsizing house. She’s so excited to spend summers on the water there watching the kids play in the water and shes already talking about which boats will be docked right outside her back door (possibly even Timberline!).
