I love staycations. Household projects are the typical motivator for taking one and that was the case this year. EPG owns a lot of photography and printing equipment that has so far, has been surviving in the garage but we can’t continue to press our luck with storing it there. The huge temperature and humidity fluctuations are certainly going to take their toll on the investments.
We’ve tossed around a lot of different ideas to capitalize on the space we had in both the garage and the breezeway. Ultimately, we settled on enclosing the bumpout in the garage from front to back so that it incorporates the back window of the building in order to accommodate a AC/Heater window unit. The draw back to this is that it will add another door to pass through when going from the house to the cars in the garage. We decided that was a small price to pay for keep the equipment safe and very accessible to the cars.
As with most of the times I’ve taken staycations, I rarely get as much done as I’d like. Kris was away in California golfing with her mom, so I was on full time daddy duty. I was able to work while Ry was in school or doing some other activities and Tom was able to help out a couple times as well. Ultimately I came up a little short on closing the walls in so I’ll have to spend a little time in the evenings this week wrapping up.
