Murphy’s Law right?
The back yard builds up a sizable puddle when it rains, and let’s face it… it rains a lot here (certainly since we moved into Duvall). So I had plan to trench in a French drain from the low spot of the puddle to where it can free flow along the side drive. No biggie. “Yeah, right” says Murphy.
Mid way through the first section of trenching with my little construction worker helper, I heard the familiar sound of crunching PVC under my shovel. Yep, there’s pipe under there. Where’s it go? Where’s it come from. How do I fix it?
Thankfully i was nearly at the end of the pipe and it looked like the terminus of a dry well. Yep I broke it, so I decided to excavate some more to see where it came from. I found a 3-way tee at the other end of the 10’ pipe so I determined this was one leg of a leach field. It could have been much worse. After some repair supplies, I’ll hopefully have this back up and running soon.
