Years tick by quickly these days and it had been 4 of them since we had met up with our great Colorado friends. Jason and Ann hosted us along with Ryan and Tiffany at their house in Edwards. Ryan and Jason are Ryder’s Co-God Fathers and Ryan had not yet met him. So it was great watching them get acquainted.
The house in Edwards is miles from anywhere and sits on 50 something acres of land up a winding unpaved road. So when we were all there, we truly had the opportunity to relax in the serenity we love so much.
We arrived late after a long day of travel following Mom and Dad’s anniversary, so Ryder awoke to the grandeur of being surrounded by peaks. Ryder had not yet been to real mountains, so needless to say he was blown away.
Friday was Ann’s 50th birthday, so along with just getting all of us together for some much needed camaraderie, we were able to share a special time with her. Without over packing the weekend, we managed to get a great hike in to explore the area, a little shopping in Vail and of course get out for a mountain bike ride (which did not end well).
We stayed a bit longer than we had originally planned due to the above and were sad to leave, but we rejuvenated our desire for mountain air and we were so excited to see Ryder love it there as much as we have for years.
