The NYCHS is a public high school with a vocational training program. Most importantly, a marine program. ABYC has had a relationship with them for several years now and as a part of that relationship, we have a staff member on their Program Advisory Council. That responsibility has now become mine and for the second year, I’ve attended their meeting at the school on Governor’s Island just offshore of Manhattan.
The island is a former military base with many derilict buildings but o er the last decade or so, it has been vastly improved and now has public space along with the school and some other facilities.
So now for the second time, I’ve traveled up for the small meeting of about 40 others to vow support of their cause.
