West Virginia in the Summer

It felt like forever since we had been anywhere, so as a birthday trip for each of us, we planned a trip to Canaan Valley West Virginia. We had been earlier this year for a short ski trip where we stayed in Davis, but this time around, we wanted to be in the heart of it. So we found a small community of vacation cabins called Black Bear Resort and rented one that was dog friendly.

It was the perfect weekend retreat and we have thought about purchasing one ever since. It was a quaint 2 bed room (one upstairs) one bath with a sizable kitchen and common area considering its size. The deck overlooked one of the main groomed parks in the community and the clubhouse with pool was a short walk away.

We spent our time relaxing on the deck and walking the dogs. But we also brought enough gear for an extended expedition. We fished a few times, hiked with the dogs and even squeezed in a mountain bike ride. All in all a pleasant trip that was only four or so hours away from Annapolis.
