And just like that summer is wrapping up. How could it have gone so fast yet again? We squeezed one last week long trip into the summer only a couple days before Ryder headed back to school for 3rd grade. We returned to Davis West Virginia where we had such a great time last month and were welcomed with some reprieve from the summer heat. Our decision to return was rewarded once again with an even bigger temperature differential between WV and home and this time it even stayed dry such that I could get a few mountain bike rides in. Each day I reported to the (picnic table) office and got some work done while Kris took the boys on various outings including the local swimming pool, some state park activities and parks. By early-mid afternoon, I would wrap up and re-convene with them to do a little more exploring or go for a mountain bike ride. I did manage to connect with another camper for a ride through Davis’ famed Moonrocks which beat the crap out of both of us.
We had the campground nearly to ourselves. We started the week in site 61 which unfortunately wasn’t available through our whole stay so we moved to 24 where we had been last month. Both sites had their pros and cons but the campground as a whole is wonderful. We may still return one more time this fall of schedule permits.
