Why Am I no Longer Shocked?

… to learn that there is water in the basement? We got back from the Adirondacks a week and half ago and we’re still digging out of laundry. But on this particular load, the water didn’t shut off when the washing machine did. Thus after the spin cycle it refilled and overflowed. Thankfully I caught it before we retired for the evening and was able to get it under control. After an hour or so of shop vaccing the wet floor and re-positioning the dehumidifier most everything was under control.

After a little diagnostic troubleshooting, I was pretty sure it was the main water inlet valve solenoid. $12 off of amazon. The hardest part of this repair was figuring out how to get to it to replace it. I think I had it done in less than 30 minutes and was running a test load through the machine that afternoon.

Geesh… what next?
