Adirondacks 2022 – Part 1

Wow… after weeks of prep and other life chaos, we’re finally getting underway for our summer trip 2022. We aren’t exactly reinventing the wheel, the first couple stops are the same as last year’s trip heading to Tupper Lake with an overnight stop in Gardiner, New York. I only got a few hours of sleep after a late night working on the truck so thankfully it was an uneventful ride up to the Harvest Host. The Yates were joining us on this trip so we rendezvoused with them and then headed over the bridge and up the eastern shore to Philly, around the New York Metro area and then finally to our first stop at the brewery and farm. We had most of the supplies we needed for the trip but knowing that this was a working farm, we stocked up on fresh fruits and veggies at their farm stand. This was our first time boondocking in Grand Talley as well as using the generator for extra loads. I was happy with how everything went with two exceptions… The generator wouldn’t run the microwave. We also found an electrical fault… as we were settling in for the evening we discovered our bathroom and bedroom lights wouldn’t work.

We had all the space in the world to set up so we face our rigs towards each other so we had a big communal area under the awnings. This is similar to how we did it at Beth Page last year and we really liked how it worked out. The weather was great and we enjoyed burgers off the griddle and headed in once the sun told it was time to retire. We hit the road by about 9 the next morning for our next stop a few hours north.
